FLIES IN THE AIR THIS PUTRA IS SOUND! VAAYUPUTRA
Posted date: 5/September/2009

The first question one would ask after coming out from the theatre watching this film ‘Where is the story’ in this film. Nowadays the cinemas are driven by screenplays. This is what happened in this remake of Tamil film ‘Sandai Kozhi’. This is the last film direction of Kishore Sarja who died recently. The third generation of actor Chiranjeevi Sarja debut and top Tamil actor of Kannada origin Arjun makes a miniscule presence in a song number to wish his nephew.

The character definition and logical end to the characters are not thought off in the original so we have done like that is what Arjun in the debut of his nephew Chiranjeevi film would say. We don’t get a signal that Balu is studying Medical but the dialogue of Gowda says I want to see my son as a doctor and this violence should end with me.

The protagonist Balu bashes in Mangalore the small time rowdy turned big rowdy Punja after a long patience (even the audience also would wait like that). Punja follows Balu who is the son of a powerful Gowda in Mandya district. The clash ends in Punja losing. What else is there in between this? The kirik of heroine Divya is a fun that would not jell with the story.

Even to showcase the full potentiality and talent of newcomer Chiranjeevi the attempt is not made. From what is available he is good in action and he is built up like that. His dialogue delivery is not up to the mark and he looks rough. He dances well and in action he is good.

Aindrita Ray the sweet Chaco bar is pleasant in looks and the role is similar to what she had done in ‘Meravanige’. Ambarish looks very tired. Ramesh Bhat has done his best. Ajay as new full fledge villain is convincing.

Bare Bare Gopamma…and Thare Thare Minugh Thaare are very melodious from Harikrishna. Sundarnath Suvarna has given some lovely shots especially in the action scenes. The top angles are also good.

Action lovers get the treat but this is not something bombastic!
