The first version ‘Dandupalya’ Kannada film created ruckus as the director held the gang responsible, in the second version that was titled as ‘2’ the police was held as culprit in the case and in this ‘3’ director Srinivasaraju explaining the crime has left it to the people to judge. Finally he asks the public to lock the doors properly and give attention on such intruders.

The film ‘3’ picks up attention after an article by a journalist in favor of the gang serving term. The cop in the case takes the journalist to the prison and explains the eight years old history of the gang. It is flashback of a gang that kills a cop who comes in the middle of dacoit done by a gang. The generations of this ruthless gang are the present gang – director connects.

One thing is sure in the record of the history that crime has taken place. When a series of crime becomes a headache, the rounding off of the gang becomes very important for police. It is a clue from a small time jeweler the hunt begins for the gang. On record the cop gets the modus operandi for the crimes and that obviously results in long term jail.

Interesting discovery in this film is that the character of Makarand Deshpande unnecessarily in the prison knows the clue to various crimes without leaving footprints from the police department. That is said to be the reason for no clue related to gang in the crimes.

Ravishanker is best again. His acting potentiality and his concern for the safety of the society deserves applaud. He overpowers on everyone in the film including top actress Shruthi.

The gang lead by Makarand Deshpande, Pooja Gandhi, Petrol Prasanna, Ravi Kaale, Muni, Kari Subbu, Jai Dev given right emotions in the difficult roles they have taken up.

This ‘3’ is for the society, it cautions the people, an alarm bell you could say from this film of Srinivasa Raju.
