A fantasy film filled with heroic flashback, limitless suspense, amazing visual effects, a Chandamama kind of fairytale and a hero who defies ageing; this in short is Bhajarangi, the blockbuster that has hit the Kannada box office this week.
This is Shivarajkumar at his best and the best film directed by Harsha as director. This is the kind of film which you want to be long enough to enjoy the visual treat and at 175 minutes, Bhajarangi caters to all sections of the audience. Though children would enjoy the fantasy story, the film is given an A certificate.
The film has two stories in one. The first is about a city-based Shivarajkumar and his attempts to settle in life against all the unlucky incidents in his life. The second is a fantasy set in a pre-gone era with Shivarajkumar again in the lead. The latter is the grandfather of the former. Though they never meet in real life, their fates meet because the villains are the same black magicians who seem to have an eternal life. The grandson in present day rids the world of the evil that his grandfather died fighting.
Shivarajkumar is at his best in both acting and fighting. He romances Aindrita Ray like a teenager and fights like a soldier in the action scenes in both the roles. There is no doubt that this is one of Shivarajkumar`s best films. It has already been proved in the box office in the last few days since its release as well. The visuals captured in every scene is rich and is a treat to the eyes. Music is another important aspect of the film. Songs as well as background score is superb. If there is one film you should not miss this season, it is Bhajarangi.
