The acclaimed director Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar is the real ‘Master’ from this film. Those who have not sat before him hearing to lectures now could call him as ‘Meshtru’. That is because of his polished and poignant style of narration. In a conversation of Acchchari and her mother the transformation character takes for the better living is what deserves applaud first. Secondly the three locations with three happening mixing it without any confusion is also a wonderful style of narration. The comeback of wife developments, the joy of husband, the lessons taught by mother to her daughter all well timed and well performed too.


What is interesting in this beautifully shot cinema Ishta Kamya is that we have an actress Kavya Shetty who could give competition to any borrowed heroines. This pretty, tall and talented actress could be a heroine for top stars in Kannada.


Hodiri ondu chappale for Nagathihalli! He has not made an ordinary cinema. At one point the route of ‘Eradu Rekhegalu’ of Saritha and Geetha strikes the mind. Later on the film moves far ahead of it. ‘He belongs to me’ – the tug of war between Mayuri and Kavya Shetty later end up on a different note.

We have seen the ‘America America’ time Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar. The control over the proceedings is exceptionally good. Of course the film is slightly boring in the beginning. Some places you would feel too much. Yet he wins over all his minuses in the second part of the film.

We are not giving the story part of this film ‘Ishta Kamya’ because it has strength of drawing the audience to the theatres slowly.


Vijay Soorya looks good on silver screen. When he is narrating dialogues the camera angle is from the side at places.


It is a terrific film for Kavya Shetty and Mayoori. Kavya Shetty with her high headed nature in the role scores over all in the film. Mayuri as tearjerker and also as naughty girl is impressive.


Chikkanna in comedy track scores good while Prakash Belawadi and Suman Nagarkar live in relationship is also a mirror to the present generation. Even without marriage living on own ideologies is possible is what Nagathihalli has carved. The portion of Jayasri and Na Damodar Shetty was not that essential in the film.


Waare Vaah for the songs, locations picked and beautiful editing! Ajanish Lokanth has caught the real pulse of melody in this film. Ravi Kumar Sana is a winner again. This is his best after ‘Olave Mandhara’.
