?MATHONDU MADHUVENA? FINE PIECE OF WORK FROM DINESH BABOO AND TEAM
Posted date: 9/April/2011

We have heard taming of the shrew but this one is taming of the daughter and son in law. The over obsession make such moves from the parents. Even the Hindi television serials are in this direction.
Director Dinesh Baboo in his 100th film as cameraman and director serve a word of caution to the elders from the children when they go extreme. This is what interesting part because he focuses very clearly elders should not lose their prestige with the children.
In ‘Mathondu Madhuvena’ a sequel to super hit ‘Eradane Madhuve’ the daughter of just married is given lessons by mother and son in law is supported by father in law. The reason why the parents do like this is because mother wants her daughter to show supremacy and control her husband. On the other son in law is given tips by father in law how to be smart in having upper hand in the family.
The wide difference of opinion the elders had they want to inject on children. What happens in this Dinesh Baboo film comedy filled cinema is that the just married couple uses the common sense to lead a happy married life.
Naveen Krishna and Priyanka make a good pair and they are a treat to watch. Thara the national award winning actress and Sharan in the company for comedy sends the audience into laughter moments. There is perfect timing from two versatile actors Ananthnag and Suhasini Manirathnam.
There is only one melodious song that is also bit sensuous. Cinematography by Suresh Byrasandra is accurate. Frames are properly adjusted.
Then what is the problem in this film? Jennifer Kotwal portions! There was no need to bring that character in this sequel because it does not serve the purpose. That means 20 minutes minus the film is passable.
Verdict – GOOD
